Namig Novruzov has been appointed Secretary General of Azerbaijan Deaflympic Committee.

Namig Novruzov was born in Baku in 1978. After graduating from Tumwater High School in the USA and Centralia College, he studied at Baku State University (bachelor's degree), the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan (bachelor's degree), the Academy of National Economy and Public Administration under the President of the Russian Federation (master's degree) and the Oberta de Catalunya University/UNITAR (master's degree).

N. Novruzov began his career in 1999 and has worked in important positions in the state and private sectors for more than 25 years (Senior Advisor to the Protocol Service Sector of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Head of the International Relations Department of the Ministry of Youth and Sport of the Republic of Azerbaijan). He was a member of the Board of the Council of Europe's Enlarged Partial Agreement on Sport (EPAS) and the Evaluation Group monitoring the compliance of European countries with the Sports Charter, a member of the Consultative Committee on Youth and Sport of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and a representative of the Ministry of Youth and Sport of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the relevant sports program of the United Nations. He also closely participated in the organization of the Baku 2015 European Games and the Baku 2017 Islamic Solidarity Games.
